The Arabic Solitaire is a compact five-card Lenormand spread designed for focused single-question readings. Unlike the Grand Tableau, which maps an entire life situation, the Arabic Solitaire narrows to one specific inquiry and reads it as a sequential chain of cause and consequence.

**The five-card chain**

Five Lenormand cards are drawn and placed in a straight line. They are read from left to right as a continuous story: card one establishes the starting point or current condition; card two reveals what influences or complicates it; card three sits at the heart of the matter as the pivot; card four shows the direction things are moving; card five delivers the answer or outcome.

The chain structure means each card modifies the ones beside it. A Bear next to a Child reads differently than a Bear next to a Fox. The story is built cumulatively across the five positions rather than by reading each position in isolation.

**When to use it**

The Arabic Solitaire works well when you have a concrete question that can be answered with a narrative: Will this situation resolve? What is the likely outcome of this decision? What does this person really intend? It is less suited to open-ended explorations of complex life areas - for those, the Grand Tableau or Lenormand Minor Table serves better.

**Reading technique**

State your question clearly before drawing. Hold the question in mind as you shuffle. The five cards then form your answer as a connected sequence. Read left to right once through, then re-read considering how each card pair (cards 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, 4-5) develops the central theme.
